JT & JMT 525X2 Gold Chain & Sprocket Kit

Description

Chain & sprocket kit - you choose the size!

With the help of our guide, you can easily see which standard sprocket and chain length are original on your motorcycle. If you want the original gear you choose the corresponding sprocket and chain in the list.

The sprocket:
JT Sprockets is the largest and most modern manufacturer of sprockets in the world!

They only use the latest equipment and machines for their manufacturing and each sprocket goes through 25 production steps and ten quality checks, one of which is manual before leaving the factory.

All JT's sprockets are CNC-laser cut from high-quality C45 steel, providing better precision and durability than most other sprockets commonly produced by punching (pressing). The sprockets are coated with a hard-anodised surface that prevents corrosion, expands the sprockets life and also provides a fine finish.

The chain:
JT are experts at manufacturing motorcycle sprockets and chains. The chains are made of a high-tech steel alloy that has a great tensile strength, heat-resistant and lightweight. Three awesome properties of a chain!

The included chain is JMT*s 525X2 chain with X-rings. The rings seal the lubricant to the links and prevents dirt, dust, water and other things that can damage the chain from getting between the links. This results in less friction and results in a chain with a longer life span than both a standard chain and an O-ring chain. It also has specially made chain rollers that are made to withstand severe stressors.

Includes rivet lock.

This is how you choose the right sprocket and chain if you want to replace your old one:

Changing the size of the front sprocket or the rear sprocket is a very simple and popular way to change a design detail of your motorcycle.

1: To get better acceleration: change to a smaller front sprocket, and/or a larger rear sprocket.

2: To increase top speed: change to a larger front sprocket, and/or a smaller rear sprocket.

You will notice the same difference if you replace one tooth in the front as by replacing three teeth in the rear. On most motorcycles, you notice a big difference in changing one tooth in the front. Therefore it is recommended to make small changes. To maintain the correct angle of the chain, you should distribute the changes between the front sprocket and the rear sprocket. Rather, replace one front tooth + three rear teeth instead of six rear teeth.

When changing the size of the sprocket, you may also need to change the length of the chain. On almost all motorcycles, you can increase/decrease one tooth in the front or rear sprocket, while still maintaining the original length of the chain.

In case of a change greater than one tooth, you often need to change the length of the chain, then the following is a good basic rule to use:
if you switch to a sprocket with two more teeth, then you need a one link longer chain.

However, all chains are sold in steps of two links, so you may need to cut the chain. There is also a chance that you may not have to cut, by adjusting the axle block chain adjuster at the wheel axle.

A link on the chain corresponds to an adjustment of 8-10 mm at the shaft block. If you need one link longer chain and have the option to adjust 8-10 mm at the shoulder block, then you can buy a chain that is 2 links longer without having to cut the chain.
