Michelin Road 5 Tyre Set

Description

Michelin continues its success story and further development on what may be the best and most high-performance touring tyre on the market – the Michelin Road 5!

Are you looking for a tyre that gives you all the confidence you need, even in the blazing sunshine or the heavy rain? Then look no further!

Newly developed XST Evo technology repels water more efficiently than ever, together with the latest rubber blends, and gives excellent grip in wet road conditions when cornering and braking.
The tread pattern finishes earlier which creates a smoothness when leaning around curves, providing maximum contact with the asphalt when riding on dry road surfaces.

The tread will become smoother over its lifetime and even when only 50% of the pattern remains, the reliable grip is not compromised.

Thanks to the latest Michelin 2CT and 2CT+ technologies, Michelin uses a hard rubber blend in the middle of the tread to maximise longevity and a softer rubber blend on the sides to maximise grip when you need it the most, like when going around curves. Patented ACT + technology makes the sides and centre of the tyre extremely rigid, providing increased stability both at high speeds and when confronted with braking on curves.

How do I read a tyre designation?
120/60 ZR17 55W TL

Tyre width (120)/60 ZR17 55 TL
The tyre is in this case is 120 mm wide at its widest point.

Tyre height 120/(60) ZR17 55 TL
The tyre height is 60% of the tyre width, in this case 72 mm.

Tyre type 120/60 Z (R) 17 55 TL
R = Radial tires. The cord lies radially over the tyre. Better curve properties than other tyres.
- Diagonal tyre. Example: 90/90 (-) 21 The cord lies diagonally over the tyre, expanding more than a radial tyre at high speeds. Also great as an off-road tyre.
B = Belt diagonal. New and improved version of diagonal frame. Expands less than a traditional diagonal tyre. A popular tyre that works very well with custom tyres.

Inch size on tyre 120/60 ZR (17) 55 TL
17 stands for 17 inches in this case.
