Snell & RK 525XSO X-Ring Chain & Sprocket Kit

Description

The flexible chain & sprocket kit where you can choose the sprocket sizes yourself!

With the help of our chain and sprocket guide, you can easily see what standard sprocket and chain lengths that are the original ones on your motorcycle. If you want the original caulking you choose the corresponding sprocket and chain in the list.

The Sprockets:
All Snell sprockets are laser cut, unlike some other sprockets made by punching. In manufacturing, advanced technology is used to cut out the sprockets and to get a perfect cut that will increase the sprocket’s durability. If you have good maintenance on the chain, you can expect a lifetime of + 3000miles, depending on the surface. All Snell sprockets have a black anodized "Electroplated" surface which gives a fine finish and also increases the sprocket’s durability.

The chain:
RK has been supplying motorcycle chains to all the major Japanese motorcycle manufacturers for over 40 years and provides both MotoGP and MXGP teams with first class chains!

RK's XSO chain is one of the best X-ring chains on the market! The X-shaped seals keep both the lubricant inside and block out dirt, dust and other things that can damage the links. This results is less friction and results in a chain with great longevity (up to 30% longer than an O-ring chain and 80% longer than a standard chain) and which also rolls more easily!

Supplied with chain lock.

Here's how to choose the right sprocket and chain if you want to change:

Changing the size of the front or rear sprocket is a very simple and popular way to change the character of your motorcycle.

1: For better acceleration - Change to a smaller front sprocket and / or a larger rear sprocket.

2: To get higher top speed - Change to a larger front sprocket, and / or a smaller rear sprocket.

You notice about the same difference of replacing 1 tooth at the front as by replacing 3 tooth at the rear. On most motorcycles, you notice a big difference in changing one tooth in the front, and it is recommended to try it in small steps.
To maintain the correct angle of the chain, you should distribute the changes between the front sprocket and the rear sprocket. Rather, replace 1 tooth in front + 3 teeth in the rear instead of 6 rear teeth.

When changing the size of the sprocket, you may also need to change the length of the chain.
On almost all motorcycles, you can switch to 1 tooth larger or smaller front or rear drive, but still maintain the original length of the chain.

In case of changes greater than 1 tooth, you often need to change the length of the chain, then the following is a good basic rule to make use of:
If you switch to 2 teeth larger sprocket, then you need 1 link longer chain.

However, all chains are sold in steps of 2 links, so you may need to cut the chain.
There is also a chance that you may not have to cut, by adjusting the axle blocks at the wheel axle.

A link on the chain corresponds to an adjustment of 8-10mm at the axle block.
If you need 1 link longer chain and have the option to adjust 8-10mm at the axle block, you can buy a chain that is 2 links longer and not have to cut the chain.
